OpenCycleRoute is a volunteer project aimed at providing a free database of high quality, detailed cycle routes around the world for use by cyclists everywhere. The project was started because most available cycle routes are difficult to find and scattered over multiple sources, hard to use, not easily searchable, covered by restrictive copyrights, lack elevation data (so you can’t see where the uphill bits are!), or are available in a form that is difficult to use with modern tools such as GPS.
